BACKGROUND:
The City of Joliet 2024 Budget includes funding for the annual pavement marking project. The 2024 Pavement Marking Program includes pavement markings on several major streets, state routes, neighborhood collector streets, and residential streets. The project was advertised on Thursday, April 11, 2024. The Public Service Committee will review this matter.
CONCLUSION:
On Friday, April 26, 2024 at 10:15 a.m., two (2) sealed bids were received for the 2024 Pavement Marking Program. The bid summary is as follows:

Superior Road Striping, Inc. $260,432.00
Precision Pavement Markings, Inc. $269,490.00
Engineer’s Estimate $278,050.00
The low bid by Superior Road Striping, Inc., in the amount of $260,432.00, is 6.34% below the engineer’s estimate.
Sufficient funds exist utilizing the Motor Fuel Tax Fund / Infrastructure (Org 20090270, Object 557200, $260,432.00).

Based on the above, it is recommended that the Mayor and City Council award a Contract for the 2024 Pavement Marking Program, in the amount of $260,432.00, to Superior Road Striping, Inc.
