SUBJECT:

title

Resolution Authorizing the Acquisition of Right-of-Way (ROW) for 129th Infantry Drive

end

BACKGROUND:

When a portion of 129th Infantry Dive was originally constructed on City owned property, the right-of-way (ROW) was never formally dedicated.  Additionally, it is necessary to obtain a small portion of ROW from American Legion Post 1080 to ensure continuity.

Two (2) Plats of Dedication are provided to establish and clarify public right-of-way along 129th Infantry Drive, Cedarwood Drive, and Ingalls Avenue.

The City of Joliet (PIN 05-06-01-200-030) will dedicate approximately 2.88 acres of City-owned property along 129th Infantry Drive to formalize public ROW.

Approximately 242 square feet of ROW will be acquired from American Legion Post 1080 (PIN 05-06-01-200-029) and dedicated to the City to clean up ROW limits near Ingalls Avenue.

These dedications will assist in clearly establishing ROW limits and will enable the Grand Prairie Water Commission to install new water main infrastructure within the129th Infantry Drive corridor.

The Public Service Committee will review this matter.

CONCLUSION:

It is necessary for the Mayor and City Council to adopt the attached Resolution authorizing the acquisition of property for the indicated purchase price.

Sufficient funds exist utilizing Alternative Water Source Program - Joliet Improvements

(Org 54080000 Object 557100; $200.00).
