BACKGROUND:
On January 4, 2022, the Mayor and City Council approved a Professional Engineering Services contract for the Centralized Traffic Management System (CTMS) Improvement Project - Phase A to Iteris Inc. in an amount not to exceed $364,397.00. The Public Service Committee will review this matter.
CONCLUSION:
This professional services contract includes Phase I, Phase II and Phase III engineering services to complete the initial project development, the preparation of contract documents for the implementation / construction of Phase A, as well as construction oversite. Iteris Inc. has completed the initial project development that will be used with all future phases of the project. Iteris Inc. has also prepared the contract documents used to bid and award the construction contract for the CTMS Phase A project. Phase A includes the first 48 traffic signals that will become the City's initial Centralized Traffic Management System. The City will be expanding this professional engineering services contract to include the scope of work necessary to complete Phase B of the CTMS project.
The City has asked Iteris, Inc. to submit an amendment to the Phase I, Phase II and Phase III Engineering Services with a Scope of Services and Cost Estimate to include Phase B of the CTMS project. The Scope of Services and Cost Estimate has been received and reviewed by the Department of Public Works.
The Services will be added to the original contract utilizing the time and material rates submitted at a total cost not to exceed $182,196.13, resulting in a new contract cost of $546,593.13.
