BACKGROUND:
The City continues to rely on Cradlepoint NetCloud Essentials for Mobile Routers to support, secure, and manage its mobile network infrastructure. These devices provide dependable wireless connectivity for city vehicles, field personnel, and remote operational sites, ensuring uninterrupted communication and access to critical systems. NetCloud delivers key capabilities such as real-time network monitoring, enhanced security controls, and seamless integration with existing IT resources. This service remains vital for units operating in the field, including public safety and other mobile staff, by providing stable, secure, and managed connectivity wherever it is needed.
CONCLUSION:
To maintain the high level of reliability and security provided by the Cradlepoint NetCloud platform, the City must renew its existing subscription licenses for the upcoming term. This renewal is essential to ensure that all mobile units continue to benefit from consistent connectivity and the advanced management features required for their day-to-day operations.
To ensure competitive pricing, the renewal will be purchased using the Sourcewell-State of IL R-257160 Gov Only contract.
Section 2-438 of the City of Joliet Code of Ordinances states that purchases whose estimated cost is in excess of twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00) may be awarded without written specifications or bidding under certain circumstances. Two of these circumstances apply:
(b) Purchases for additions to and repairs and maintenance of equipment owned by the City which may be more efficiently added to, repaired or maintained by a certain person;
(f) Purchases authorized by a concurring two-thirds vote of the Mayor and City Council;
