end
BACKGROUND:
The City of Joliet is undertaking a project to add integrated access control and security camera systems at Fire Stations 6, 8, and 10. The work will incorporate new door access hardware across standard and overhead doors, as well as the installation of multiple exterior 360-degree cameras at each station, all designed to connect seamlessly with the City’s existing Genetec security platform. The selected Genetec-certified contractor will install all necessary equipment, cabling, and enclosures, while City IT staff will complete the programming of doors, access rules, and camera integrations. This project enhances personnel safety, protects physical assets, and unifies security system management across the three stations.
CONCLUSION:
Videotec submitted a comprehensive proposal (Proposal #6063) detailing the installation of access control systems and CCTV surveillance at all three fire stations. Their submission includes provision and installation of Altronix Trove access control enclosures, Cat6 plenum cabling, Genetec licensing, card readers, door sensors, motion detectors, overhead door controls, and multiple Axis exterior cameras for each site. Videotec’s proposal aligns fully with the City’s existing Genetec environment, and their pricing summary reflects a total project cost of $151,789. Videotec was also the lowest responsive bidder and has established familiarity with the City’s existing systems, making them the recommended vendor for award.
