BACKGROUND:
The City of Joliet has been using VUEWorks for six years as its official asset management system. This comprehensive system tracks spatial and non-spatial assets, manages service requests, and handles work orders. Since its implementation, VUEWorks has experienced exponential growth, extending its usage to departments such as Public Utilities, Public Works, Information Technology, Community Development, and the Police Department. The City's popular citizen request portal and mobile app, CitizenVUE, are also supported by and integrated with VUEWorks. Over the past year, VUEWorks has continued to evolve, incorporating new features and improvements that enhance its functionality and user experience.
This item was recommended for City Council approval by the Communication, Technology and Information Systems Committee at the August 6, 2025 meeting.
CONCLUSION:
Payment of the annual hosting, maintenance, and technical support fees is necessary to maintain use of this critical software system to manage the assets of the City and to respond to issues reported by residents. Renewing the City's VUEWorks subscription for 2025 will ensure uninterrupted service and support, allowing the City to continue leveraging this essential tool for efficient asset management and responsive citizen service.
