Award of Contract for the 2021 Roadways Resurfacing Contract B - MFT Section No. 21-00541-00-RS to P.T. Ferro Construction Co. in the amount of $2,413,582.69

BACKGROUND:
The Mayor and City Council previously approved the 2021 City of Joliet Budget. The 2021 Roadways Resurfacing Contract B is a part of this budget. The project was advertised on Thursday, August 12, 2021. The Public Service Committee will review this matter.
CONCLUSION:
On August 30, 2021, at 9:50 A.M., two (2) sealed bids were received for the 2021 Roadways Resurfacing Contract B. The bid summary is as follows:

Austin Tyler Construction $2,580,782.45
Engineer’s Estimate *: $2,604,722.00
The low bid by P. T. Ferro Construction Company, in the amount of $2,413,582.69, is 7.3% under the engineer’s estimate. The Engineer’s Estimate as read at bid opening was corrected. Sufficient funds exist utilizing Motor Fuel Tax Funds / Infrastructure (Org 20090270, Object: 557200, $2,413,582.69).

Based on the above, it is recommended that the Mayor and City Council award the 2021 Roadways Resurfacing Contract B, in the amount of $2,413,582.69, on behalf of P. T. Ferro Construction Co.
