Amendment of Section 4-1 of the Code of Ordinances

BACKGROUND:
It is the practice in some municipalities to allow a restaurant or banquet facility, that is already licensed, to allow patrons to bring their own beer or wine to the restaurant and charge a fee for doing so (BYOB). This amendment creates that option for local businesses.
There are also some locations which provide event space at which patrons may bring their own alcohol to consume. These premises are currently uninspected and unlicensed. This amendment will require them to be licensed and therefore, inspected.

It is recommended that the Mayor and City Council approve this proposed amendment of Section 4-1 the Code of Ordinances.
