end
BACKGROUND:
The City of Joliet’s 2021 asset forfeiture and police vehicle fund budgets have sufficient funding for the purchase of one (1) vehicle for the Police Department Investigations Unit. This vehicle will be used as a mobile digital forensics lab that will be utilized on scenes of violent and other major crimes.
CONCLUSION:
The State of Illinois Joint Purchasing Agreement whose specifications mirror the City of Joliet’s requirements for Public Safety Vehicles and Administrative vehicles was used to obtain prices.
The 2021 State of Illinois Joint Purchasing Agreement low bidder for 2021 Ford Explorers was D’Orazio Ford. Quotations were also requested from local area dealers Ron Tirapelli and Rod Baker, however, both dealerships state they did not have this vehicle in stock and would not in the near future.
The total price for the one vehicle from D’Orazio Ford was $36,510.00. This vehicle will need further Lighting, Upfitting and IT Install needs ($12,500.00).
Sufficient funds are available for this $49,010.00 purchase in the 2021 Police Special Revenue Org Code 22160020 Object Code 557500 (project code STFOR - state asset forfeiture ($110,000).
