Extension of Operating Agreement and restoration of funding

BACKGROUND:
The Joliet Area Historical Museum and the City of Joliet have enjoyed a twenty year partnership of service to area residents. Our current Operating Agreement expires at the end of 2022. The current proposal seeks to extend the Agreement for one year. It is our intention to work on a new Agreement to be presented at the end of 2023.
The current proposal also seeks to restore funding to pre-covid levels. In April of 2020, the City reduced museum funding due to mandatory closure; the museum is once again fully operational, thus requiring increased funding to finance increased operations. A total of $162,500 has been withheld since the pandemic, we are seeking that amount to be paid from ARPA funds, as well as restoration of $275,000 annual funding for the museum.
