BACKGROUND:
The 2024 Budget allocates funds for the 2024 Public Works Landscape Restoration Program. This restoration program will consist of repairing landscaping within the right-of-way throughout the City of Joliet on an as-needed basis. This project was advertised on Thursday, February 8, 2024. The Public Service Committee will review this matter.
CONCLUSION:
On Friday, February 23, 2024, at 9:45 A.M., four (4) sealed bids were received for the 2024 Public Works Landscape Restoration Program. The bid summary is as follows:
The low bidder, Local Lawn Care & Landscaping, did not acknowledge Addendum No. 1 and did not provide a valid Bid Bond or insurance certificate resulting in the bid being rejected. The next lowest bidder was ASE Illini-Scapes Inc., in the amount of $57,536.00, which is 11.94% above the engineer’s estimate. ASE Illini-Scapes Inc. has completed the work associated with this contract in the past for the City of Joliet. Sufficient funds exist utilizing the PW Engineering & Construction / Contractual Services (Org 09027000, Object 524200, $15,536.00) and Roadways / Contractual Services (Org 09029000, Object 524200, $42,000.00).

Based on the above, it is recommended that the Mayor and City Council award the contract, for the 2024 Public Works Landscape Restoration Program, in the amount of $57,536.00, on behalf of ASE Illini-Scapes Inc.
