Ordinance Amending Sections 2-313.11 and 2-313.13, Arts Commission, of the Code of Ordinances

BACKGROUND:
In 2019, the City Council approved the creation of the Arts Commission. Upon passage, the ordinance called for 18 members. The passage of time has allowed for reflection and evaluation of the commission structure. Upon request of the commission chair, with concurrence from the mayor, the composition of the commission shall be reduced to nine voting members.
The additional amendment clarifies the attendance expectation for commission members in compliance with Ordinance 2-21. A member is expected to attend all meetings, if they must be absent, they must notify the commission chair. If they miss six meetings, or miss three meetings unexcused, they may be removed from the commission.
